Description

Long metal medical instrument with one hooked end and one pointed end. Central handle is hexagonal shaped.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: There is information about Dr. Burton Bancroft in the Frank Museum archives, as well as in the paper accession record. AW ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Not sure what this one is, a paramedic and EMT instructor I talked to had no idea either. Based on my research it could be a nerve hook, which is a device used to move nerves without damaging them during surgery. It could also be a Penfield #4, also used for moving nerves often during spine surgery. It could also be a frontal sinus curette, which is used to scrap a patient's sinuses (specifically ethmoidal walls) to relieve pressure and open up the sinuses should the patient have sinus problems. Information compiled by Logan Osmera.
